The Japanese Cuisine Lecture and Demonstration (September 9-10th, 2019)
The Embassy of Japan and the Hospitality and Culinary School of Iceland (Menntaskólinn í Kópavogi), co-organized the Japanese Cuisine Lecture and Demonstration. In this 2-day event, the Ambassador's chef Takasawa taught students and our guests the essence of the Japanese cuisine Umami and showed how to cook popular Japanese dishes such as Chawanmushi (Steamed Egg Custard), Japanese-style Curry with lamb meat, Shogayaki (Ginger Lamb). The participants tried cooking those dishes themselves. During the event, the participants deepened their understanding of Japanese cuisine by asking various questions and enjoyed tasting the dishes afterwards.
