    Greeting

Góðan dag öllsömul og komið þið sæl.

Please take a look of this Photo. You see a foreign flag together with the Icelandic one, in front of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Iceland. It is the Japanese National Flag, symbolizing the Sun.

This is how nicely Iceland received and welcomed me on my first day here. I have been enchanted by your country from the very beginning of my stay.

My name is SHINO Mitsuko, the first residential Ambassador of Japan to your country. Iceland has had the full fledged Ambassador in Japan since 2001, so now we are on equal footing, to promote and widen our already existing good relationship.

Iceland is very well known in Japan as the safest country in the world, the country with the natural beauty, the first lady head of the state elected in a democratic way, etc. I would like to learn more deeper about your country.

Through this home page, I would like to share with you my experiences, my findings and my thoughts in Iceland.

Thank you for visiting this page, and I am looking forward to seeing you.
