On April 29, 2022, the Government of Japan announced the recipients of the 2022 Spring Conferment of Japanese Decorations.
Mr. Tryggvi Sigurðsson, Founder and President of the Icelandic Kyudo Association, will receive the Order of the Rising Sun, Gold and Silver Rays.

Summary of Contributions
Mr. Tryggvi Sigurðsson has served as President of the European Kyudo Federation for 16 years as well as the Icelandic Kyudo Association for almost 40 years, traveling to various countries to promote Kyudo alongside not only technical skills but also the spirit of Kyudo, such as Shin Zen Bi, the three concepts of the essence of Kyudo literally translated as “Truth, Goodness, Beauty” to his students.
Mr. Sigurðsson currently holds Kyudo Kyoshi 7th Dan, the highest level of Dan outside Japan.
