Summary of Contributions
Mr. Iura worked at the Information Center of Japan before the Embassy of Japan in Iceland was established in February 2001, and was engaged in introducing tourism and culture. After the embassy was established, he devoted himself to consular work, and for more than 20 years until his retirement, he supported the consular work of the embassy and continued to provide friendly support to Japanese residents in Iceland.
He has also been teaching judo at the leading judo club in Iceland for over 25 years, making a significant contribution to the spread of judo in the country.
