On May 27, a representative from the embassy attended the award ceremony for the Watanabe Trust Fund Scholarship held at the University of Iceland and delivered a congratulatory address.

This scholarship fund was established in 2008 by Mr. Toshizo Watanabe, a successful businessman, who donated his personal assets to create a scholarship program between Japan and Iceland. This year, the fund awarded the highest number of scholarships to date, with a total of 51 students and researchers receiving grants. Of these, 36 will travel from Iceland to Japan, and 15 will travel from Japan to Iceland to pursue their research and studies.

We wish all scholarship recipients the best of luck in their endeavors in Japan or Iceland!
