On April 13, the 20th Japanese Language Presentation Contest was held at the University of Iceland, organized by the Japanese Studies Program. Ambassador Takewaka attended as one of the judges.

A total of 24 first‑ and second‑year students took part in the contest and presented the outcome of their Japanese language studies. Their presentations covered a wide range of inspiring topics, including memories from summer trips to Japan, an introduction of Miyamoto Musashi, sports they have practiced for many years, and personal hobbies such as knitting.

The Ambassador’s Prize was awarded to a first‑year student who spoke about his experience of photographing the aurora, and to a second‑year student who shared reflections on the culture shock she felt when visiting Japan again after a long time.
