Tama city, Tokyo, has been registered as the Host Town of the Icelandic team for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo! As the Host Town, Tama city will host pre-games training camps, as well as organise a variety of events and cultural exchanges with Icelandic national team athletes and local residents. The people of Tama will support the Icelandic athletes to perform their best!
<What is a Host Town?>
The Host Town Initiative aims to connect individual Japanese towns with countries taking part in the Tokyo Games and to organise a variety of exchange programmes. By having a Host Town, each participating national team can maximize their performance in the Olympic Games, promote the country’s culture, and develop long-term relationships with the Host Town.
