On February 22, Ambassador Suzuki hosted a reception, celebrating the 64th birthday of His Majesty, the Emperor of Japan. Gamlir Fóstbræður, the leading male choir of the country, sang the national anthems of both countries at the beginning of the reception, which was attended by about 130 people, including Minister of Finance, H.E. Þórdís Kolbrún Reykfjörð Gylfadóttir and First Lady, H.E. Eliza Reid.

In his speech, Ambassador Suzuki expressed his hope that Japan and Iceland will overcome their difficulties and further strengthen their relations in the face of natural disasters such as earthquakes and volcanic eruptions, and, referring to the recent the Japan-Ukraine Conference for Promotion of Economic Growth and Reconstruction in Tokyo, stated that Japan would continue to support Ukraine in cooperation with Iceland. Minister Gylfadóttir then gave a toast and spoke about the importance of solidarity with Japan, which shares fundamental values, including support for Ukraine.

A video introducing the Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai was also shown, calling for the promotion of investment in Japan. In addition to the embassy booth, companies such as Toyota, Nordic Wasabi Ísland and iFarm, which is trying to grow strawberries in a plant factory, promoted their products at the event, while dishes made from Japanese scallops and yellowtail, sushi made with Japanese rice and Sake were served.
