Visit to Aurora Abalone

On 14 May, Ambassador Takewaka visited Aurora Abalone. The company was established in 2008. Its farm at Grindavik is making use of nearby geothermal power at Svartsengi. Farming in cold weather with geothermal power is unique. Aurora Abalone is faming both Ezo abalone and Red abalone, which is originally from Japan and California, respectively. It is aiming at marketing not only the United States but also globally including Japan. Literally aurora-colored abalone is worthy of watching.
