Introduction of the Logo
On April 30, on the occasion of a reception in honor of Mr. Kengo Kuma, Ambassador Takewaka introduced the logo celebrating the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Iceland.
The reception was attended by Mr. Pawel Bartoszek, Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Althingi, and Ambassador Bergdís Ellertsdóttir, Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs.

The logo was designed by Ms. Yuki Goto, a designer working for a book design company.
By connecting seven zeros, the logo visually represents the 70th anniversary, while the interconnected colors—deep blue of the sea, light blue of ice, gradations of sky and aurora, and red symbolizing fire and the sun—reflect elements closely associated with both countries.
Through these flowing connections of color, the logo symbolizes seventy years of exchange and development between Japan and Iceland.
